From Pahalgam to Polarisation

Sad to see attempt being made to create communal frenzy everywhere under various pretext. The aftermath of #PahalgamTerrorAttack, we saw a united India condemning the violence unequivocally and standing together which is India’s biggest power. While people have been sensitive and reasonable, the prime time mercenaries made every attempt that peace is disrupted and polarisation happened. They were expecting that the Prime minister will order total ‘deletion’ of #Pakistan but so far that has not happened. Instead, they got #CasteCensus which they hated so much. They felt like ‘egg’ on their face. Is it a #Mandal two as many are suggesting.

I personally feel, these are just headline management but even if that is so let us hope the government will be serious in its effort to carry out the caste census. The only difference when Mandal started by #VPSingh in 1990 was the total honesty of that government while currently we dont know what will happen. I am sure, we are moving towards more polarisation.

Anyway, we will see how things move. I have stopped being too excited or cynical. Let the things happen. I know all political parties will do their own calculations. The problem in India is that we dont really have intellectuals because those who claim to be intellectuals are not more than working as tailenders of their ‘jaati’ netas or #jaati interests. And remember, we might have clubbed different castes in various categories but modern leaders are expert in creating realignment of different jaatis. It is going to happen.

So the government is working on all the direction. Their is a unanimity on the international affairs so there is nothing much for them to do as people have virtually punctured their plan. In the #Pulwama time there were lot of conspiracy theories but #pahalgam has given a lot to learn and everybody stood with the government though Hindutva loudspeakers continue to portray people anti national or deliberately want to put words in their mouths to create tensions.

The incident in Muzaffarnagar is the prime example as how Rakesh Tikait was insulted in public but then it will boomerang. One must understand that the farmers and Jawans have shown much more reasonableness than the politicians.

There is no point of playing these card games in the national security issues. It takes time. The military leadership knows well as what to do. There are lots of international pressure too. We know well that neither Americans nor Russians would like a war between India and Pakistan. There is a geopolitical reality. So the Bhakts might shout but fact of the matter is military action will happen as per their understanding and not as per the whims and fancies of the chest thumping netas in the street. Frankly speaking, I have found our military men ( not the retired rabble rousers on prime time ) deeply understanding of the situation. Remember a few things. A man in uniform is ready to sacrifice his life for the nation but he too know that war ultimately is not the solution. Secondly, all those who live on the border areas, would always want peace and stability.

Look at the graceful response of Himanshi Narwal, wife of martyred Navy officer Vinay Narwal who felt that we must not spread hatred towards Muslims. It need enormous courage to speak with that much of courage of conviction at the time when you have lost the most precious thing of your life. Salute to Himanshi for speaking from her heart.

It is time, we stand up and speak up against criminals and terrorists without any prejudices. #Uttarakhand’s #SangeetaNegi spoke up against the criminal violence that the communal hate mongers indulged in Nainital. She stood against punishing an entire community for the fault of an individual but today she face the rape threat from the same criminal communal begot who could not open their mouth when #AnkitaBhandari was murdered and the accuse was son of a top leader of Uttarakhand BJP. We have seen from #Nirbhaya case how narrative was created but what has changed since 2013. The mindset remain deep-rooted brahmanical patriarchy which just get hurt when a film on #JyotibaPhule is shown because it critique Brahmanism.

As a nation a united India will only be the most powerful country on the day when we all stand up together in condemnation of all forms of violence, intimidation, terror and goondaism irrespective of caste, gender, religion, We can not resolve the crisis that we face today by selective usage of the problems for our narrow political games. As I said, let us allow our armed forces to work as per their understanding of the issue and not speculate on things. Netas do things for their political gains but it is the brave forces who have to protect our border and fight for us. Let us remain united at this hour and dont allow criminal incidents to spread rumours and hatred.
